Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

Page Diff is a Chrome extension that detects visual changes on webpages you choose to monitor. All data the extension creates stays on your device. No data is ever transmitted to any server, and no third party ever receives your information.

What data we collect

Page Diff stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage:

This data is stored in chrome.storage.local, which means it lives only in your browser on your device and is not synced to your Google account or any cloud service.

What we do not collect

How your data is used

Screenshots are used solely to compare the visual appearance of a page over time. The comparison is performed entirely within the browser on your device. No screenshot or page content ever leaves your device.

Permissions

Page Diff requests the following Chrome permissions:

Data retention and deletion

Your data is stored only as long as you keep a watch active. You can delete a watch at any time from the extension popup, which immediately removes its screenshots and change history. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.

Storage is capped at 5 MB by Chrome's local storage limit. The extension will warn you when you approach that limit.

Children's privacy

Page Diff is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
